Save the dates: 28 March to 1 April 2018
One of Taupō’s biggest family events celebrated every year, Easterfest is a weekend of celebrations hosted by the Churches of Taupō, giving our community a meaningful way to celebrate Easter.
Through a number of events, displays and activities, Easterfest and Taupō’s Churches aim to go beyond the commercial aspects to re-introduce the true meaning behind Easter and bring unity to our town.
Bringing Taupō together
Launched in 2016, over 5,000 people participated in Easterfest’s first year, growing to more than 8,000 in 2017! Now with 2018 preparations underway, the event is expecting an even bigger crowd of locals and visitors this year.
From expressing Easter through a series of paintings to interactive exhibits to TED-type talks by special guests, there’s opportunities for our community, families and new generation to learn about Easter in all sorts of specific forms.
Join the fun
You choose the events you want to participate in. Bring the kids to the Family Fun Day at the domain buzzing with a massive line-up of activities, give-aways, performances, live music and more! Or get a chance to see special guests including Dave Dobbyn performing with a full band and NZ singer/songwriter Nathan King, Todd Funk from Thinking Matters with his presentation ‘What Your Science Teacher Didn’t Tell You’, and Andrew Urquhart from Radio Rhema as your MC for the Family Fun Day – just to name a few.
Keep an eye out for the full programme coming out in early March for more information on what’s happening.
Easterfest is only made possible thanks to many volunteers, groups, partners and supporters. You can also help and support Easterfest in many ways, including gifts, donations and volunteering.
